Our intention is to become a recognised leader in innovation and excellence in the sustainability space.
Our gender balance commitment
Our goal is to ensure equality of genders across all levels and locations of the Select business by 2033.
Across much of the business, we have already reached this target with 65% of salaried positions occupied by women. Our next step is to encourage, train and mentor our women to ensure they’re confident to apply for senior positions.

Our cultural diversity commitment
We proactively encourage and support positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
With Laing O’Rourke as our parent company, we proudly contribute to its Reconciliation Action Plan.
In 2011, Laing O’Rourke was the first major construction firm to produce a Reconciliation Action Plan. That plan was officially endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. In 2023 the Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan was launched.
For more than a decade, our organisation has continued to learn and grow, improving and innovating along the way. As we engage with Indigenous communities across the nation, we intend to continue to build on these relationships of respect.

Our plant artwork
Most of our plant feature Aboriginal artwork inspired by the Burbuga Mura Rising Path mural, skilfully painted by the talented Saratta Fielding (Wonaruah).
The symbols along the path represent Elders, families and children and the strong connection to family that Laing O’Rourke and Select Australia and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples share. The gathering circle with interweaving people in red charcoal and yellow visually represents our people. We are one team at the heart of the business.
The blue water imagery represents our journey across the seas to Sydney Harbour and the connection between our Australian and European hubs.
The mural reflects our commitment to advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, businesses and communities through the three values of reconciliation – relationships, respect and opportunities.
